Operational Meeting Held for the Launch of the Comprehensive Cancer Registry System

According to the Public Relations Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research and Technology at Semnan University of Medical Sciences, a specialized operational meeting on the implementation of the Comprehensive Cancer Registry System was held on Sunday, June 7, 2026, as part of the University's efforts to strengthen research infrastructure and enhance the intelligent management of clinical data.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Majid Eslami, Vice Chancellor for Research and Technology; Dr. Rasoul Baharloo, Head of the Cancer Research Center; Dr. Masoumeh Masoudian, Director of the Cancer Center; Dr. Farzaneh Kermani, Director of Research Information and Network Development; and the technical team from the software development company.

The meeting focused on the operational implementation of a standardized system for the accurate collection, registration, and analysis of clinical data from cancer patients. Dr. Eslami emphasized the critical role of high-quality cancer registry data in evidence-based health policymaking and the advancement of applied medical research. He described the implementation of the system as a key step toward systematic disease surveillance and improving the quality of cancer care across the region.

Dr. Baharloo highlighted the importance of integrating clinical information into a unified database and discussed the Cancer Research Center's technical requirements and operational challenges related to disease registry management.

A major part of the meeting was dedicated to a specialized training session conducted by experts from the software development company. Participants received hands-on instruction on data entry procedures, standardized disease coding, generation of statistical reports, and the platform's data security protocols.

Once fully implemented, the Comprehensive Cancer Registry System will enable more accurate monitoring of cancer incidence trends, facilitate survival analysis, and provide a robust infrastructure for conducting multicenter research projects at Semnan University of Medical Sciences.
