About

The evolving role of universities in the economic development of societies has led to profound transformations, giving rise to a new paradigm known as the knowledge-based economy. Today, the development of modern societies is increasingly driven by research and innovation, where scientific knowledge serves as the foundation for both industrial production and economic growth. Within this framework, universities and academic research centers play a pivotal role by educating highly skilled human resources and driving technological innovation. While knowledge generated through basic research is often associated with uncertainty and high investment risk, its translation into applied research, technology, products, and services creates significant opportunities for innovation, commercialization, wealth generation, and sustainable economic development.
